It is recommended that you get insurance before traveling there. Restaurants offer roast crab, Khmer red curry with coconut milk and amok fish. And fried ants are a special treat. Insects are commonly used here as seasoning for fried beef. It is better to buy bottled water. As for soft drinks, there are some interesting choices- filtered coconut milk, palm tree sap and a mix of fruit juices with egg yolk. As for local alcohol, there is palm wine and rice vodka.
